Come sing me a happy song to prove we're alive

What are you looking forward to this week?

For the swelling in my eyelid to please vamoose so that I can bask in the glory that is a birthmark-less vision! (TMI version: have had a weird skin flap thingamajig on my eyelid/in my eye for as long as I can remember, which turned out to be a growing birthmark. Supposedly these are pretty common around the eye area. On Sunday I took the bus down to Edmonton to have a nice mister doctor slice it off - I even saw it wobble on the scalpel! I returned to Fort McMurray late last night, eye swollen and gooey, only to find that my car had been towed. So it goes.)

Also, this weekend is the Unblocking your creativity retreat with Pattie Dwyer and the Cheepiyak Theatre production Night Witches at the Westwood Community High School Theatre.

Which blog is the last to be added to your reading list?

I actually had to think on this one for a bit! I'm always on the lookout for new reading material, it's part of my morning coffee ritual, you see. After putting on my sweaty thinking cap (I'm running a fever. Don't judge me.) two freshly pressed blogs came to mind; The CJBuzz written by Christopher, and EYEYMM; which is a local initiative highlighting individuals within Fort McMurray who's had a great impact on this community. CHECK THEM OUT, WHY DON'T YOU?

Post a picture symbolizing this day:

and also:
are you having fun

Name something you really, really want to do and that you're planning on getting done this week!

Meditate! I've been meaning to, I've been planning to, even setting aside time to find some balance - and all of a sudden I've spent three hours on Reddit zoning out instead, reading about the benefits of meditation. Du'h.

What did you do last night?

I relished in a six hour bus journey. No seriously, I enjoy bus rides! I suppose it's the European in me. The exception being the time in Thailand when we were travelling from Bangkok towards Kho Chang and I had a disgusting stomach bug and was vomiting in flimsy plastic bags and we had to disembark in the horribly John-strewn Pattaya instead so that I wouldn't traumatize the other poor passengers further (pro-tip: don't go to Pattaya, just don't, trust me on this one).

What time do you get up in the mornings?

6 am also known as dude, where's my brain?

Tell us something we don't know!

Did you know that "inner speech" (the voice you hear inside your head when you're reading or thinking) is accompanied by tiny muscular movements in the larynx?

Also, I usually crave cheese more than I crave chocolate and other sweets. I want cheese. Damnit.
